Design for the Next Chapter

Livingston, NJ

What began as the renovation of two bathrooms evolved into a multi-year collaboration that ultimately encompassed the clients’ entire home, including a thoughtfully designed addition. As the homeowners grew comfortable with the design process, the scope expanded organically, allowing the home to transform in a cohesive and intentional way.

Having raised their family here and built a successful local business, the couple felt deeply connected to both their home and neighborhood. Rather than relocate, they chose to age in place, adding a first-floor accessible bathroom and home office to support both comfort and longevity.

Throughout the home, custom millwork, layered stone and tile finishes, and a growing collection of artwork and antiques create a richly personal aesthetic. New furnishings are seamlessly blended with refinished heirloom pieces, resulting in a space that feels both elevated and lived-in. Special attention was given to durability and function, with thoughtful accommodations for the clients’ two large dogs and visiting grandchildren — ensuring the home supports every stage of life, beautifully.

“Julia is always available during the entire process. So cooperative and thoughtful, along with the excellent suggestions during the entire renovation.”
